Hugh Jones (The Chef)
I am Hugh Jones over 50 and neighbour to John Wynn-Jones.In conversation with John about 5 years ago he mentioned how much he'd like to drive highway 61 - the blues road. I said that sounds like my kind of trip! Book me on it!So the day has arrived and we are good to go.
The first time I fell into music my brother brought home a John Mayall blues album in 1971 and I could not stop playing 'Room to move'. and I've been hooked on music ever since.I have played guitar since I was 12 years old and very time I pick it up there is always something new to learn. Recently I have been to Aberystwyth Uni studying jazz guitar with Jean-Louis. A whole different style to the Blues but it is still all great to play. I now have the great pleasure of 2 of my 4 sons playing guitar, one studying in Bristol Institute of Modern Music and the other working towards grade 4.
My other passion in life is food. During the summer I travel the music festival circuit cooking and selling veggie food on my stand www.nobonesjones.co.uk
I am the luckiest man alive doing what I love.!! I have been married to Jill and settled in Montgomery for the past 24 years with our 4 sons - a fabulous place to bring up our family. Before this I was an overland bus driver - London, Kathmandu for Hann Overland. Man it was crazy - those Indian drivers!!!!!
Really looking forward to the trip - I'm just off to write the song for it, watch this space.
