The Blues Road team are proud to announce the return of one of the most original and exciting blues players in the UK. The dust has hardly settled since his gig last year and yet you have all been asking us when will he return?
Its been a busy and successful year for Brooks (and his band State of the Union with Boo Hewerdine)  Some of you may have seen Brooks on the the Andrew Marr Show in December . He also played at last years hugely successful Shrewsbury Folk Festival.

"with bluesy fingerpicking, soaring bottleneck slide and swinging flatpicking, Brooks Williams' music is rooted in the blues and is fresh and original as any music you are likely to hear. His unique combination of traditional and original music inspired Dirty Linen magazine to call Brooks Williams one of America's musical treasures"

"A Statesboro Georgia native- the town made famous by Blind Willie McTell in his song Statesboro Blues- Brooks began playing guitar at the age 10 after being shown the opening riff to Purple Haze by a summer music camp counsellor. In the years following Brooks taught himself to play listening to recordings by the likes of Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder and Taj Mahal but it wasnt until he moved to Boston, Massachusetts in his late teens that Williams put it all together. In Boston, Williams first heard roots and blues music on the radio and started to go to shows in the city's many caustic music clubs"

"How soulful a solo guitarist can be when he has talent, taste and astonishing technique" - Blues Review

"Deft, tasteful guitar chops" - Rolling Stone

"Stylistically rich, harmonically sophisticated and breathtakingly beautiful finger-style artistry" - Guitar Player

"Ranked one of the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists, singer-songwriter Brooks Williams writes groove laden songs and delivers them with an easy going vocal style and monstrous guitar chops. Walking the line between Blues and Americana, Williams has worked stages worldwide for over 25 years, amassing a staggering back-catalogue of songs, recordings and tales. With nearly 20 CDs to his name and more on the way- this Statesboro Georgia native is according to AmericanaUK, impossible not to like"
